Frequently Asked Questions
How are text messages counted?
Each incoming or outgoing text message counts as one. When you send a message to 100 people you have sent 100 messages and the total cost would be $1.25.
What phone number will we use?
We will give you a toll free number (10 digital number) when you sign up. These numbers allow you to send messages in bulk without being blacklisted, area-code specific numbers can be blacklisted.
We do NOT use short codes and below are some reasons why.
- These are shared codes and are not as reliable
- Some telecom providers like AT&T and T-Mobile are eliminating shared short codes
- Recipients must opt in. You can only send short code SMS texts to customers who have specifically opted in to receive text messages
How do I respond to text messages?
If you have opted to receive text message replies when sending out the text message, you will be emailed whenever someone replies to the message. Replies will be sent to the primary email address of the user who sent the text message. When you reply to that email, the reply will then be sent to the person via text message. They can then reply and it will be emailed to you and so on. This linked help article explains in more detail.
