Case Study: How a Multi-Campus, Bilingual Church is Boosting Efficiency and Engagement

“Previously, only a handful of staff members were comfortable navigating our old church management system. But now, One Church Software has become a daily tool used across our entire staff to help us shepherd the people God has entrusted to our care.”

This is a direct quote from Marvin, the Discipleship Pastor at Fielder—a large, multi-campus church in Texas with both Spanish and English speaking congregations. Fielder made the transition to One Church Software in 2024.

We’re grateful for our partnership with Fielder and for Marvin’s willingness to walk us through their story. Below you’ll find his firsthand review of One Church Software—how it’s serving their church today, why they chose to make the switch, and more.

Who is Fielder Church?

We are a multi-campus, bilingual church, and about three years ago, the Lord stirred our hearts to become a praying church. This calling led us to reorient our priorities and launch a Wednesday Night Prayer Gathering, where—week after week—we cry out to God for people to come to know Jesus.

Since making this shift, we’ve witnessed an unprecedented move of God: people are coming to faith in remarkable numbers. We’ve already celebrated 264 baptisms this year. In 2024, we had 277 baptisms, and in 2023, 315 baptisms. God is moving!

We are both a shepherding and a sending church. We intentionally pursue those who are unconnected, helping them find community and experience an environment where they are known, prayed for, and challenged to take steps in their faith journey. But we don’t stop there—we also activate the body to be sent, even to the ends of the earth, to carry the gospel forward.

The Challenge

We faced significant challenges with our previous church management system. It lacked user-friendliness and offered no automation capabilities, making it difficult to manage our processes efficiently. Over time, fewer and fewer staff members were actively using it.

As a bilingual church, we also struggled to create forms that served both English and Spanish speakers within the same platform. This limitation forced us to adopt a separate solution outside of our church management system—adding complexity and inconsistency.

Additionally, any attempt to customize the system required both a financial investment and a significant amount of time, making it difficult to adapt the software to meet our ministry’s evolving needs.

The Transition

We first heard about One Church Software through a church in Florida. One of the pastors encouraged us to explore the platform—and once we did, we were immediately impressed.

What stood out right away was One Church Software’s clean, user-friendly interface and its robust automation capabilities.

Our onboarding experience was exceptionally smooth. The training materials provided were clear, comprehensive, and easy to follow, making the transition seamless for our team. When a few issues arose following our data import, the OneChurch team was quick to step in and offer helpful support to resolve them. Overall, it’s been a truly positive experience from start to finish.

Features We Love

#1: The query builder This powerful and customizable tool helped us gather meaningful insight into the health of our church. We love that it allows us to make campus-specific queries.

#2: The workflow feature – Without a doubt, this has been a game-changer. It has allowed us to automate countless processes, saving time and ensuring that nothing falls through the cracks.

#3: Intuitive email/text messaging – By using texting more frequently, we’ve seen stronger engagement, and we love that we can respond to messages directly through email. And because we can send targeted emails and text to English and Spanish speakers, we ensure that everyone receives communication in their preferred language.

#4: Smart forms – Each person in our database now has a designated campus field in their profile, allowing us to know exactly which campus they attend—or if they’ve transitioned to a different one. This is made possible through smart forms that automatically update profile information based on responses.

Why OCS is Ideal for a Multi-Campus and Multilingual Ministry

One Church Software has greatly enhanced our ability to send targeted communication to specific campuses and to run campus-specific queries for ministry insights.

For example, I’m sending out a newsletter to all our group leaders every week in English and Spanish. This newsletter goes to two different queries that we build that lists all our group leaders who speak a certain language and shepherd specific types of groups. I can also easily schedule that email beforehand if I’m out on vacation.

The form builder is especially impressive—highly customizable, easy to use, and perfectly suited for our bilingual context. We can easily create forms in both English and Spanish, incorporate branching logic, and even collect payments for events—all in one place.

Because all of our data lives in a single, unified database—rather than being spread across multiple systems—our staff now has a clear and comprehensive view of who is part of our flock across all campuses.

The Impact

Previously, only a handful of staff members were comfortable navigating our old church management system. But now, One Church Software has become a daily tool used across our entire staff to help us shepherd the people God has entrusted to our care.

We’re able to:

  • Track spiritual development
  • Record prayer requests
  • Note interest in missions and other areas of engagement

All this and more can now be done in one centralized, accessible platform. This has empowered our team to care for our people more personally, intentionally, and effectively.

With One Church Software, we’re now able to build custom workflows that ensure we stay engaged with every person who enters our doors. As people enter various processes—whether it’s a first-time guest, connecting to a group, joining a class, or taking steps toward baptism—we can guide them more intentionally on their faith journey.

In addition, communication has become significantly easier and more strategic. We can now schedule emails and text messages in advance, targeting specific groups or individuals based on custom queries. This level of automation has streamlined our follow-up and allowed us to stay more connected with our church family.

Now that Fielder is one year into their journey with One Church Software, here’s what they had to say to anyone else considering making the switch:

“OneChurch is an outstanding platform for any church seeking robust automation, a powerful people database, intuitive group management tools, and a reliable giving solution—all in one place.

The customer service is unlike anything we’ve experienced. You can instantly chat with a real team member who is always eager to help and incredibly responsive. OneChurch is also remarkably open to feedback; they genuinely listen to user needs and have already implemented several of our feature requests that aligned with their broader development goals.

We truly love OneChurch—and we’re confident that you won’t regret making the switch.
